Obama Obama tech genius

I always figured it would be someone outside of government who finally moved government into the 21st century that so many of us live now (and, being used to living in the 21st century, being extremely annoyed at government’s lack of forward movement in what is now a digital way of life). But that may not be true. Barak Obama just released a technology document (PDF) outlining his position on many of the major internet and technology issues of the moment, and I think one solution he offers is surprising in it’s common sense: to “Open Up Government to its Citizens”. !!!! Geeze, who’d have thought. But it means so much, it means that, one can only hope, I can easily interact with my government, voice my opinion, and follow exactly what my government is doing. It means that the good work that the Sunlight foundation is doing won’t have to be about hacking the system, it can be about creating a system from within the government that (again, hopefully) enables true open access.

Three cheers! Also, read more about this on the lessig blog!
